Kaimana

Untamed Waters of Kaimana – Fishing at Its Wildest!
The Papuan Black Bass is renowned as one of the ultimate river predators, known for its relentless aggression toward lures. Many anglers have faced the challenge, with broken tackle and hard-fought battles leaving their mark.
The local Barramundi are just as formidable as the legendary Papuan Black Bass, widely regarded for their sheer power and aggression. Shaped by the intense water flows of this region, they have evolved to be stronger and more tenacious than their counterparts found elsewhere in the world.
Join PPFA and the traditional resource owners of Kaimana as we explore untouched estuaries, rivers, creeks, lakes, and swamps in pursuit of this legendary species.
Our expeditions, based in Kaimana, West Papua, are centered around the formidable Papuan Black Bass (Niugini Snapper), with opportunities to encounter Barramundi and a range of freshwater and saltwater species as thrilling by-catch.
Fishing is conducted via a mothership and tenders, with carefully chosen anchorages providing access to the most promising waterways for the adventure ahead.
